The Mool Mantar

There is one GOD
Eternal truth is GOD's name,
Creator of all things and all-pervading spirit.
Fearless and without hatred,
Timeless and formless.
Beyond birth and death,
Self-enlightened.
By the grace of the guru GOD is known.
The words 'Ik Onkar' in Punjabi (the language of Sikhism) mean 'There is one GOD.' These are the first words of the Mool Mantar. This declaration of belief is recited every day as the first part of the morning prayer. Every section of the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib, begins with the Mool Mantra.

Names of GOD

Kangha: is the comb which is bound into the hair to keep it in place.

Kara: is the steel bracelet or bangle
