Open Evening 2002

We had a very busy time in the R.E. department at FitzWimarc's Open Evening in October 2002.

Mrs Harrington had arranged a demonstration Jewish Passover Seder meal, ably assisted by Miss Daltrey and some of our Year 9 pupils. This year more foods were prepared - unleavened bread or Matzos, and Charoset for the Passover, but also Round Challah for the Rosh Hashanah festival. There were also Jewish sweets with pictures of festivals and artefacts, labelled in Hebrew.

To provide further insights into this, a video of Passover was shown and one of our computers was set up with the ever-popular Interactive Haggadah CD-ROM. Another computer displayed the FitzWimarc R.E. website.

There was of course much work exhibited on our wall displays, together with table displays of many of the resources and artefacts, which we use.
