Level Descriptions

Level 1

AT1 - Pupils display awareness of a limited range of features of Christianity.

Level 2

AT1 - Pupils display knowledge of a limited range of features of Christianity and awareness of other religions.

Level 3

AT1 - Pupils display knowledge of a range of features of the religion(s) being studied.

Level 4

AT1 - Pupils display basic understanding of central features of the religion(s) being studied. (The majority of pupils should be demonstrating attainment at Level 4 by end of KS2)

Level 5

AT1 - Pupils display sound understanding of central features of the religion(s) being studied. (The majority of pupils should be demonstrating attainment between Levels 5 and 6 by end of KS3)

Level 6

AT1 - Pupils display sound understanding of variety within the religion(s) being studied.

Level 7

AT1 - Pupils use evaluative skills to analyse aspects of the religion(s) being studied, and religious and other perspectives on aspects of human experience.

Level 8

AT1 - Pupils use highly developed evaluative skills to analyse aspects of the religion(s) being studied, and religious and other perspectives on aspects of human experience.

Exceptional Performance

AT1 - Pupils use the analytical tools of at least one academic discipline to evaluate aspects of religion.
