Some twelve years ago, a working party was set up to provide some material for daily readings, meditations and so on,
which could be useful for "acts of worship" conducted on a class basis. With the growing workload of all sorts of initiatives and bright ideas from government,
the Working Party felt that the name S.W.A.M.P. might be appropriate (School Worship And Meditation Programme).
Of the original working party of seven members, only Mrs King, Mr Butcher and Mr G. Jones (chairman) are still at the school, the others having now entered into the blissful
realm of retirement. The briefer thoughts contained in these web pages come from the materials and ideas brought together by the SWAMP working party. I hope they will be useful to you.
As Cicero once wrote:
"An tu existimas aut suppetere nobis posse quod cotidie dicamus in tanta varietate rerum, nisi animos nostros doctrina excolamus..."

In 2003, I put together 'thoughts for the day' for every school day in the year. This year, 2004, I hope to fill the gaps created by weekends and holidays, so that there will eventually be 366 'thoughts'.
